Who can take part in the challenge?

Anyone — individuals, households, youth groups, and community associations can all take part. There's no cost and no special expertise required.

Is there a cost to join?

No. The challenge doesn't require any budget; use what you already have.

Can I take part as a group rather than on my own?

Yes. When you register you can choose to take part individually or as a group.

What do I need to register?

Sign in, then answer a few short questions about the place you'd like to improve and the problem you've noticed there.

What counts as "one action"?

Something small, focused, and realistic, not a big project. It should be lawful, safe for you and everyone around it, need no significant funding or technical expertise, and create no danger for people, others, or the place itself.

When do I need to take my action?

During the challenge's action window (see the key dates on the Challenge page). You choose your own action date within that window when you plan your action.

What if my action doesn't fully go as planned?

That's still worth sharing. Honest reflections about what didn't go as expected are just as valuable as clean successes; the share step asks about both.

Do I need to take photos or other evidence?

You're encouraged to, so you can show what happened, but it isn't a strict requirement to take part.

Will my story be published?

Only if you say so. When you submit your story you choose whether to publish it with your name, publish it anonymously, or keep it internal and never publish it.

Can I change my mind about publishing later?

Yes; contact us and we'll update your preference or take down a published story.

What happens to my personal data?

See our Data Policy for the full details on what we collect and why. In short, we never sell your data or use it for advertising.

What safety checks do I need to complete?

Before you take your action, you'll confirm a short safety checklist covering whether it's lawful, safe for everyone involved, needs anyone's permission first, could cause harm, and respects people's privacy.
